BDMJS | Literary Fest | 2024 B. D. Memorial Jr. School organised its 2nd Literary Fest on 30th August 2024. Our students marked the event with an array of activities that catered to nurture love and appreciation for literature, boost creativity, and inculcate a reading habit in the students. Eminent authors Miss Jael Silliman and Swati Sengupta conducted an interactive session on the art of storytelling. Jael Silliman read out excerpts from her first book SHALOME RIDES A ROYAL ELEPHANT THE STORY OF THE FIRST JEWS OF CALCUTTA. Author Swati Sengupta shared her readings from Rebellion in Ranchi and The Incredible Life of Jhalkari Bai. The event began with chanting of shlokas that projected our ancient literature, recitation, lyrical ballad invoking lord Ganesha and then staging of O.Henry's After Twenty Years and Tagore's Tashyer Desh made the event reach its crescendo. Inspiring words from our director Mrs. Suman Sood enriched the session. She thanked the team for their commendable efforts to make the event so meaningfully successful. We are immensely grateful to the parents for their cooperation and support in helping us realise the goal of deeply integrating The Reading Policy into our system. Mrs. Madhumita Sengupta, Principal B. D. M. International joined as a special guest.
